This full-day adventure takes you deep into the Vilcanota Mountain Range, home of the mighty Ausangate Glacier, the highest peak in Cusco.
The 7 Lakes of Ausangate trek is one of the most beautiful short hikes in Peru, featuring turquoise, blue, and green glacial lagoons surrounded by snow-capped peaks and herds of alpacas.
You’ll explore breathtaking Andean landscapes, enjoy a local meal in Pacchanta, and even have the chance to relax in natural hot springs with a view of the sacred mountain.

Pick-up from your hotel around 4:00 a.m., followed by a 3.5-hour drive to the community of Pacchanta, where we’ll enjoy a hearty local breakfast.
After preparing for the hike, we’ll begin the 7 Lakes Circuit, walking through the high Andes with amazing views of Ausangate Mountain towering above.
Our trail passes through the lakes Qomercocha, Patacocha, Azulcocha, and China Otorongo, each with its own color and character. Along the way, you’ll see Andean wildlife and traditional shepherd communities.
After completing the loop, we return to Pacchanta for a delicious traditional lunch prepared with local ingredients.
Before heading back to Cusco, you’ll have time to enjoy the Pacchanta hot springs (optional) — a perfect way to relax after your trek.
