    TRIP ITINERARY

    Day 1

Cusco – Lago Qoricocha – Quencco (campamento)

Early in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel in Cusco and transferred by private vehicle to the archaeological site of Puca Pucara, where your hike will begin. You will start the ascent on a gentle trail that offers panoramic views of the city of Cusco and the surrounding mountains. You will continue walking through open valleys until you reach Lake Queullacocha, where you will enjoy an outdoor lunch surrounded by high Andean meadows and native birds. After the break, the trail gradually descends to Lake Qoricocha, known as the “Golden Lake.” From there, you will continue to the community of Quencco, where you will be welcomed by local families. Your camping equipment will be waiting for you for a hot dinner and a night under the Andean stars.

After waking up with a cup of coca tea, you will enjoy a breakfast prepared by the team. Then you will resume the hike, this time following an ancient Inca trail that passes through increasingly green landscapes as you descend. Along the way, you will be able to observe the change in vegetation and the appearance of high-altitude birds, while the imposing peaks of the Urubamba mountain range rise up around you. You will finally arrive at the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, also known as “little Cusco.” There, your guide will offer you an explanatory tour of the remains of Inca constructions, such as warehouses, temples, and agricultural terraces.

After exploring the site, you will descend to the village of Lamay, in the heart of the Sacred Valley, where you will be picked up by transport that will take you to Ollantaytambo. From this station, you will take the tourist train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, you will check into your hotel and have the evening free to rest or stroll around the village.

After breakfast at the hotel, you can choose to walk up or take the bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. There you will meet your guide for a guided tour of approximately two hours through the assigned circuit within the citadel. You will learn about its history, architecture, and the role this city played in the Inca civilization.
At the end of the tour, if you booked in advance, you will have time to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Then, you will return to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch on your own before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Finally, private transportation will take you back to your hotel in Cusco.
