    This 1-day version of the legendary Inca Trail is perfect for travelers who want to experience the essence of this world-famous trek in less time.
    Your adventure begins with a panoramic train ride from Ollantaytambo to Km 104 (Chachabamba), where the hike starts. From there, follow a well-preserved Inca path through lush cloud forests, ancient ruins, and breathtaking mountain views.

    The highlight of the journey is arriving at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate (Inti Punku)  the same route taken by the Incas centuries ago.
    It’s the perfect balance between physical challenge and visual reward.

    TRIP ITINERARY

    Day 1

    Itinerary

    Your adventure begins early, with hotel pick-up in Cusco at 3:30 a.m.
    You’ll travel in private transport to Ollantaytambo train station, then board a scenic train to Km 104 (Chachabamba) — the official starting point of the trek.

    After registering at the checkpoint, begin your uphill hike through the lush forest, visiting the Chachabamba site and then continuing to Wiñay Wayna, where you’ll enjoy a box lunch surrounded by Inca ruins and panoramic views.

    From there, continue along the ancient trail until you reach Inti Punku (Sun Gate), where you’ll witness your first stunning view of Machu Picchu.
    After a short descent, you’ll enter the citadel for a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, exploring its most important temples and terraces.

    After your visit, take the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have free time to relax or dine before boarding your evening train to Ollantaytambo and returning to Cusco around 10:00 p.m.
