    Discover two of the most impressive and photogenic sites in the Sacred Valley on this half-day adventure from Cusco. Explore the mysterious circular terraces of Moray, once used by the Incas as an agricultural laboratory, and the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, still active today and operated by local families.

    Places You’ll Visit

    • Chinchero Weaving Center:
      Along the route from Cusco to Maras, we’ll make a cultural stop at a traditional textile workshop in Chinchero. Witness the ancestral weaving techniques, learn how natural dyes are made, and share a unique cultural exchange with local artisans who keep this tradition alive.
    • Moray:
      Marvel at the fascinating circular terraces carved into the earth  an Inca innovation for experimenting with crops and recreating different microclimates.
    • Maras Salt Mines:
      Visit a stunning salt complex with more than 3,000 salt pools fed by a natural spring and worked by local families since Inca times.

    TRIP ITINERARY

    Day 1

    Moray, Maras Salt Mines & Chinchero Weaving Center

    We’ll pick you up from your hotel between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. depending on location.
    Our first stop will be the Chinchero Weaving Center, where you’ll see the traditional Andean weaving process led by local women.

    Next, we’ll continue to the archaeological site of Moray, also known as the Inca Agricultural Laboratory. The drive takes about 2 hours, and you’ll have around 45 minutes to explore, take photos, and learn about its agricultural importance.

    We then head to the Maras Salt Mines, just 20 minutes away. Learn how thousands of salt ponds are still harvested today, enjoy a guided visit, and taste local salt chocolate before returning to Cusco.

    Arrival back in Cusco is around 2:30 p.m., with drop-off near the Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
